Loud Life
by Sam M. Phillips

Sing silent whispers in my dreams,
Talk to me in my waking hours,
In symbols and demon tongues,
So sick of you,
Driving me crazy,
Why did I start?
Get out of my head,
I’m sorry I looked in the well and found you there.

Invade my brain no more,
I can’t stand you,
Screaming presence sending me mad,
Filling my reality with spirits,
They prod me, and caress me,
Take the best of me,
Leave me neurotic, scattered,
Brain matter splattered.

No hope to come back,
No legacy,
Only stupid secret schemes,
A world dancing with talking life,
Self a sensitive instrument,
Wishing it wouldn’t talk so loud.
