Human dignity,
Human freedom,
When can we expect our troubles to end,
Is it just around the bend?

Burnt bodies,
Cut up bodies,
What peace can a soul find
With an end so unkind?

Rippled water,
The effects left after,
You search for the lost,
Unable to find them,
You are left counting the cost.

Remnants of self,
Tattered self,
Bodies wounded,
Souls wounded,
Something needs solving,
Something needs absolving.

The fire within,
The fire without,
Can we live without violence?
Something burns in us all,
Listen close to hear its call.

Mad with lust,
Mad with bloodlust,
Kill, rape, pillage, burn,
Try to douse the way we yearn.

Ideological,
Pathological,
Greed and creed,
False need,
Find a way to feed,
Feed on those who bleed.
