Conduit
by Sam M. Phillips
Cast into space,
I race to trace the outlines,
Define the confines of my mind,
I find it stretches,
Sketches an infinite path.
Cast my will,
Fill the void with conscious action,
Follow up with a retraction,
Satisfaction in each breath I take,
Placid lake ripples.
Stipples of colour,
Contour of etheric creatures,
Features alive with animation,
Demonstration of demon’s frustration,
Castration of their powers.
The towers crumble,
Ancient ruin jumble,
Tangle of overgrown bushes,
Gushes of water running wild,
I feel like a child,
So mild and full of awe,
I stumble on and cry for more.
Raw stimulus,
I let my stylus record,
A concord between head and hand,
The land a collection of shapes,
Light drapes its cape of contrast,
Blast of colour as sun shatters,
Batters everything in five dimensions.
Tensions dissolve,
Problems resolve,
Planet revolves to take it all in,
Subliminal layers
To answer your prayers,
Let go of your cares,
The message bears the seal of the mother,
So be kind to one another,
Your brother needs you,
And you him,
So sing his praises,
It raises the glory of creation,
Elation to be found in all things.
Rings of Saturn,
Turn again and play,
Say what you came to say,
A ray of hope
To help us cope
With our own songs,
We can get right with our wrongs,
The bongs I smoke,
Toke to rise,
Reprise an old habit,
A conduit to a place of peace,
Where all our problems cease.
