Premonitions
by Sam M. Phillips

Premonitions left unspoken,
Provoking fate to act out,
I’m not about to interfere,
That would transfer the energy here,
It’s not about fear,
I can steer my consciousness,
Readdress all the issues I have with my fate,
But it’s too late,
Cannot bait this line,
Find the sublime
Amongst all the slime,
My only crime
Is ignorance
And circumstance;
Born into a human body,
Past-life amnesia,
No knowledge of what lies beyond the veil of death,
How are we meant to live?

I’ll give you a good suggestion,
But it would be a digression,
The court is in session,
And the lesson of cosmic justice,
Through individuated subjective experiences,
Is being taught,
Bought with our blood,
Smeared in Earth’s mud,
The crud that sticks
Picks its moment,
Torment peaks
Then sneaks away,
Play of emotions,
These are the premonitions
I won’t speak of,
Trying to live in the now,
Willing to bow to the master,
The caster of fate,
He feels no hate towards me,
He’s trying to set me free
Of accumulated karma,
By forcing me to live my dharma.
