Moon’s Purpose
by Sam M. Phillips
Full moon rising,
Such an enticing
Spectacle,
Receptacle
Of emotion.
This commotion
That swings our mood
Is this spirit’s food,
It’s good and bad,
Happy and sad,
It makes us mad.
Still, I’m glad
Of its influence,
The difference
Between a boring life
And dramatic strife.
Moving face
Leaving trace
Elements,
Detriments
Dug in,
Hugging
Up close
As we sleep,
Making us weep.
To keep the tide flowing,
And to keep our souls growing,
The reason for this full moon glowing.
