Enough
by Sam M. Phillips
You’re pretty selfish with my time,
Filling my mind with rhyme,
Line after line
Of fine verse,
You converse
So fast,
A huge blast,
I’m not going to last
Unless you slow.
I know you want to live,
But I give
You enough,
It’s tough
Living both our lives,
I know our shared soul strives
Towards the same goal,
But I have the harder role.
Being incarnated
I feel very frustrated,
As I know you do too,
But you don’t have a clue
What you ask is a burden.
I’m certain your existence is, too,
Trying to push through
The portals,
And be heard by mortals
Must be rough,
But I’ve really had enough.
