Dark Mage
by Sam M. Phillips
You can’t hold me back,
I mean to attack,
I know what you lack,
I use it to stack
The odds in my favour,
Present myself as your saviour,
Savour the taste of me,
You’ll never be free
Under my leadership,
You slip into my grip,
Worship my ability to enslave,
Pretend to yourself that I save
You from the world,
I’ve hurled you into my cage,
Convinced you I’m a sage,
Really I’m a dark mage,
Filling page after page
With biased bile
To make you smile,
You don’t detect my guile,
All the while I’m faking,
Taking everything from you,
And you don’t have a clue.
