Vampire
by Sam M. Phillips

I file my teeth,
I smile beneath,
Cracked lip sheath,
Happy to cause you grief,
Belief I’m not real,
I’m here to steal
Your soul,
Fill a bowl
With your blood,
Flood of hormones,
Victim moans,
Groans as I place stones
On your chest,
Vest of iron
To confine
Fine blood vessel,
I make you my vassal,
Wrestle with your will,
Your heart still,
Mill your bones to dust,
Grind up the crust,
Lust after flesh,
You taste best
When you are subdued,
You are my food,
Feels so good
To have you here,
To clear my conscience
With dark science,
Your defiance
Fuels my need,
Your bright eyes provoke my greed,
I feed on your life force,
A vital source,
Feel it course
Through your vein
And then into my brain,
A powerful drug
To fill my mug,
Parasitic slug,
I suck you dry,
Try not to move,
You soothe
My desire,
Fuel the fire
Of my life,
I take the knife
And make a long cut
Along your gut,
Glut to satiate,
You struggle too late,
My indecision great,
I debate
How to best prepare your pieces
When your struggle ceases.
