Phantom Reality

by Sam M. Phillips

The limitless power,

I stretch my head and tower

Over those who expect,

And therefore accept,

A lower level of existence,

I revel in resistance,

It makes me stronger,

The longer I have to wait,

The more weight

I can take.

.

Fake fools gather,

Lather of lies,

Wise man denies

Answers that come

From what’s been done

By other men,

Only when

A person has an experience

Do they know the difference

Between phantom and reality.

.

We must gain the ability

To see through illusion,

So much confusion

We are able to avoid

If we make ourselves devoid

Of all thought,

Do not be caught

Filling your head

With the ideas you’ve read,

They are the fears of the dead,

And you must dread

Their insidious influence,

Confluence of two minds

Finds no originality.

.

Finally it will come,

But only if you become

Your own man,

Only then can

God peek through,

He will speak to you,

But you must not confuse

Him with those who will use

You as a second life

If you allow them to fill

Your mind with their strife.
