Secrets In Vaults
by Sam M. Phillips
The tiger pounces,
The king renounces
His crown,
Worn down
By the enemy within,
He cannot win.
.
Sin seeks solace,
Too deep to dismiss,
Punish his peers
But it never clears
The building guilt
From all the blood spilt.
.
Gilt throne,
No one can atone
For the destruction,
This symbolic situation
A sad elegy,
An angry allegory
For all the gory
Scenes of our dreams.
.
The man screams
And wakes,
Takes a deep breath,
Knows that death
Haunts him,
Taunts him
For his faults,
All the secrets in vaults
That he locked away
But won’t stay that way.
