The Hypnotic Computer Screen

I become aware

As I stare

At the computer light,

Shining bright,

That anything is possible,

And that I’m responsible

For what I say and do,

And so are you—

.

We are so free,

We can be

Whatever we want,

There is a font

Of knowledge,

And if we pledge

Ourselves to study,

We can become sturdy

Creators of anything—

.

We are here to bring

Our imaginations to life,

We are rife

With ideas

And fears,

And all of it is helpful,

Allowing us to fulfil

Our true potential—

.

I try to dial

Into some hypnotic state,

I don’t feel so great,

But the screen can take me away,

It can sway

Me with its dopamine dream,

Making my soul scream,

As I fill the page—

.

Life is rage,

And I am furious,

Everything so serious,

So maybe we should make time

To be lost in the sublime

Glow of the screen—

.

Scream in denial,

I want something worthwhile,

I want my style

To be read,

I want my head

To go on display,

It is the only way

A performer like me

Could ever choose to be.
