The Author Sisters

Full of will,

Yet ill at ease,

Disease and blisters

Are all these sisters

Have ever known,

Having grown

Up in shadow of stone,

They had to own

Their imaginations

To change their situations,

All their actions

Turned to writing,

A way of lighting

A new path free,

And now we see

That they succeed

Even as they bleed—

.

The greed of the graveyard,

Life is so hard,

And it sucks them down,

The top of town,

Full of the dead,

Filling the head

With dreary dread,

Having led

All of their family

To this finality,

They join them as well,

But there’s a story to tell

That will still live,

Their way to give

Themselves immortality—

.

What a pity

Their lives were so short,

We’re all caught

In this time trap,

But we can wrap

Our experiences in a fine sheath

As we rot beneath

The grey ground,

New life found

In the cover of a bound

And beautiful book,

An effort that took

Their whole lives,

Each one strives

Forward and arrives

In the future intact and living,

Giving us a look into

What they went through,

And a chance for them to live again In the space of another’s brain.
