Understanding God

Sometimes I feel so full of spirit

I feel as if my heart may burst,

I really do understand religious fanatics,

For I am one myself,

The only difference is I am my own leader,

There is no cult outside of my own brain,

I am the sole follower of a code

I have invented for myself,

I couldn’t follow the words of others,

I could only read and reflect,

My religion is one of art,

I believe in each person having a purpose,

Mine is to reflect the world,

Mine is to filter the world through this one brain,

Mine is to feel with this one heart,

Mine is to be as close to this one body

As I am able,

I am asked to transcend time

And learn the true nature of consciousness,

For this is the key to understanding God,

As far as we are able through the human experience.
