Despite Adversity

Conquer through sheer force of will,

I know I instil

Confidence in the group,

No need to stoop,

I’m down there with them,

They depend on my leadership,

Can’t let it slip,

I grip the crown

Of my responsibilities,

Trying not to drown

In the mire,

I will not tire,

Desire to rise

Up through the lies,

All my ties

Working for and with me,

Formidably I continue,

I move through,

A king in disguise,

Someone who tries

Despite adversity.
