Parents
by Sam M. Phillips
Not everything is in your domain,
I’d be happy if you would remain
On the sideline,
I will be fine
If you leave me alone,
I have grown
Into my own man
I can look after myself,
I don’t need your help.

Parents can never let go,
They do not know
Everything,
Yet they bring
An opinion to all,
There’s nothing that doesn’t fall
Within their scope of expertise,
I wish they would please
Just go away,
I don’t want to talk
To them every day.
